His characters, often excessively elongated, are schematic and stylised, almost abstract. Through the skilful hammering of the iron, brought to a temperature of 1200°, Maxime PLANCQUE manages to sculpt expressive forms, in a gesture whose random aspect fully participates in the creative process. Busts without arms, and very long legs simply suggested by a rod contribute to the dynamism of the work and its magic. While the surface treatment enhances the material, the graphic treatment applied enriches the works with particularly decorative elements.
