Here is a strange world if ever there was one. Painter Jean-Pierre Fruit draws on nature in order to convey its astonishing shapes and the constant transformations
that take place with the passing of time and seasons. By taking a disconcerting plunge into organic matter and the oddities of the plant world, this fairly atypical
artist gradually freed himself from genres, schools of thought and technical “a priori” in order to invent his own language, one which often includes reliefs, as
though the subjects suddenly decide to break free from the frame holding them. His assiduous practice of drawing (a prerequisite for anyone claiming to produce artwork)
was, in Jean-Pierre Fruit’s eyes, an essential "way into painting".
